If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for collecting daily manna), make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning. Wednesday, September 26, 2018

For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation." Message:
People sometimes give their lives for a good person, a loved one, a cherished cause. But people don’t die to save their enemies. With one exception: Christ.

In Romans 5, Paul tacitly depicts godless humanity as people waging a war against God. No matter how much God does love us, his wrath descends upon people fighting against him. They have made themselves his enemies. Modern feel-good theology has come up with slogans such as, “It doesn’t matter if you believe in God; He believes in you.” But of course, this is just the opposite of what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that, if we do not believe in God, we will know his wrath.
Humanity was entirely at war with God, filled as it was with sin, when Christ was born. Christ thus died for his declared enemies. Saying that we have gone to war with God, and that he will punish us for it, is not to say that God does not love us with a love beyond our imagination. This is what Paul is saying: Christ, unlike anyone else, died so that his enemies might live. Not enemies by Christ’s choice, for God’s love has never failed us, but rather, enemies by their choice.
Through Christ’s death, we were not simply justified before God; we were also reconciled with him. Justification is a legal concept, meaning that we will be found “not guilty” when we are judged. Reconciliation is a term of relationship. Our sin puts us in an adversarial relationship with God; our faith in Christ, because of His sacrifice, restores us to a relationship of love with God. Even if we made ourselves God’s enemies through atheism, idolatry, or simple lack of concern with righteousness, we can be reconciled through Christ by faith. Given the choice between the world and God, we have chosen God, and part of our reward is an ongoing, loving relationship with him.
Meditation : . Prayer : Walk with me, dear Lord, so that I may not be alone as I face this day, but always in your presence. Your joy is a lighthouse in a world often dark with sin, and I pray that I may reflect the light of your truth, to inspire others as I have been inspired.
