Dear
Friend,
If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage:Paul on Malta
Bible Verse :Acts 28:7-10
"Close to the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the chief man of the island, named Publius, who received us and entertained us hospitably for three days. It happened that the father of Publius lay sick with fever and dysentery. And Paul visited him and prayed, and putting his hands on him, healed him.
And when this had taken place, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases also came and were cured. They also honored us greatly, and when we were about to sail, they put on board whatever we needed."
Message:
Paul is on Malta, where he and the entire company of his ship have been shipwrecked. Because it is still the stormy season—they likely landed in November or December—they have no way to leave the island. They are forced to stay for three months.
Malta was a Roman colony. It is an odd island, half-European and half-north-African, lying in a critical position between Sicily and the north African coast. 2000 years ago, the climate and ecology of the Mediterranean were vastly different than today. Roman “Africa,” which included Carthage (Libya), Tunisia, and part of Algeria, was not an impoverished semi-arid region. Like Malta, its geography would be unrecognizable today. It was green and fertile, ideal for growing grain. It was the breadbasket of southern Europe and fueled first the growth of Greece (e.g. Athens) and, later, Rome.
So Malta, the only island lying astride the principal trade route for Rome’s food, had some significance. Paul does his best to make friends, but there is no account of him preaching. He was under arrest, and although he was not kept in chains or a jail, no doubt his freedom was curtailed.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. ...Amen
