If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning. Saturday, March 30, 2019
Today's Passage : Today's Passage:Noah and the Flood [Part 5] Bible Verse:Genesis 8:15-22 "Then God said to Noah, “Leave the boat, all of you—you and your wife, and your sons and their wives. Release all the animals—the birds, the livestock, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—so they can be fruitful and multiply throughout the earth.” So Noah, his wife, and his sons and their wives left the boat. And all of the large and small animals and birds came out of the boat, pair by pair. Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and there he sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose. And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things. As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” " Message:
Not only Christians, but also the Sumerians, the Babylonians, the Jews (obviously), Muslims, Indians, aborigines in Australia and New Zealand -- and on and on -- tell of a great flood that covered the earth. Atheists seek to discover and explain this common myth in all kinds of ways, while ignoring the truth: The Biblical story of Noah is factual (in essence or in full, depending on your belief). Many scientists say it didn’t occur, but if there is one thing I have learned in life, it is that scientists don’t know as much as they think they do.
For thousands of years, scientists has held themselves up as infallible thinking, for some reason, that at the moment in time in which they live(d), the actual final scientific truth about something has been found. A few hundred years ago, science would have told us authoritatively that the sun revolves around the earth. A hundred years ago, that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.

It is true that much of Noah’s story is so implausible as to be outrageous. But I don’t care. It doesn’t matter. The story about a holy man who was the son of God, and who was killed and then came back to life, is 100% implausible and outrageous, and I believe that with my whole heart. I think people should make up their own minds about things; myself, I am perfectly happy thinking that Noah lived to be 600 years old and carried around a gigantic menagerie of animals for the better part of a year, including food for them, inside a big wooden boat that he made by hand because God told him to; I am also perfectly happy thinking that much of the story is an elaboration of an ancient oral tradition. It just doesn’t matter to me.
I will say, I believe in the kernel of the story: God once destroyed mankind by a great flood, and inspired a righteous man and his family to build a boat and save themselves and some animals. But again, it’s the sort of thing where people have to make up their own mind.
Also notice that God has sworn not to destroy all life while the earth exists, no matter how evil the human race becomes. The logical extension of this promise: The final days of humanity will mean the destruction of the earth itself.
Meditation : Prayer : May the God of peace, who declared victory over death by the resurrection of His only Son, Jesus Christ, make me perfect in every thought and act through His grace, that my life might be pleasing in His sight and that I might share the perfect peace that is only possible through Him, to whom be glory for ever and ever..........Amen |
