If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for collecting daily manna), make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning. Saturday, October 13, 2018

Eugene Peterson wrote The Message, not as a study Bible or even a reading Bible, but trying to give Bible readers fresh insight into what they read by using very informal, even slang, language. I have to admit, sometimes he expresses what the Bible is trying to say better than anyone else.
I don't think this translation of the Lord's Prayer is going to be adopted by many people who read this site, but reading it may help deepen your understanding of the broader meaning.
It is particularly interesting that, instead of the automatic “amen,” which often seems to mean nothing except “the prayer is over,” he writes, “Yes. Yes. Yes.” While this is a bit of overenthusiam for many people, it does give us new insight into the meaning of “Amen.”
One might also find food for thought in the translation “Reveal who you are” rather than “Hallowed be Thy name.”
