If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for collecting daily manna), make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning. Saturday, September 29, 2018

For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ." If one were to simply be given these three verses and told to read them, well, I know I'd quickly become bleary-eyed. So let us take it one verse at a time; for Paul is, actually, saying something meaningful here.
As we saw in the preceding verses, Paul is comparing Adam to Christ. In both cases, the actions of a single man profoundly affected all to follow. Today, Paul draws three contrasts between Christ’s “free gift” and Adam’s “trespass.”

First, the peace and life that Christ brought is greater than the death that Adam brought, because it is permanent. Christ’s gift is permanent, whereas Adam’s curse was ended for all those who believe in Christ. Life is greater than death, because Christ triumphed over death and gave the same triumph to all those who would believe in him.
Second, Adam committed a single great sin. But Christ’s grace is the absolution for millions upon millions of sins. It is greater than Adam’s sin simply in terms of its scope, for in a single sacrifice, purification of every sin that had ever been committed became possible.
And finally, life is greater than death. Once you are dead, death has no further meaning. But if you have life, you have something wonderful every day, every minute. If there is one candle lit in a dark room, which is more important: the darkness or the candle? Which is more remarkable? Before God created the universe, it was dark and formless. It is life we should celebrate, not death we should fear. The light reigns over the darkness, and we reign over death by virtue of Christ’s triumph, which He shares with all who believe in Him.
