For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.Eph 2:9

Dear Friend,

If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage :The Source of Joy

Bible Verse: Exodus 9:25-35

"The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, was there no hail. Then Pharaoh sent and called Moses and Aaron and said to them, “This time I have sinned; the Lord is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong. Plead with the Lord, for there has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.” Exodus seventh plague of hail Moses said to him, “As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will stretch out my hands to the Lord. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth is the Lord’s. But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear the Lord God.” (The flax and the barley were struck down, for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud. But the wheat and the emmer [a grain similar to wheat] were not struck down, for they are late in coming up.) So Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and stretched out his hands to the Lord, and the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain no longer poured upon the earth. But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned yet again and hardened his heart, he and his servants. So the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people of Israel go, just as the Lord had spoken through Moses. "

Message: In the progression of severity, the seventh plague crosses the line into loss of human life. This is implied rather than stated directly; in the last lesson we learned that those who remained in the field would die, and today, we learn that some Egyptians did, in fact, fail to take cover. Plague of Hail (Padua, ca. 1400) It is a lesson within a lesson. Overall, Pharaoh is being taught that opposition to God means, ultimately, death and ruin. But in the short run, Egypt learns to heed the Word of God in at least a short-term, immediate setting; those who learn the intermediate lesson and have the sense to get indoors, live. The ruination brought by Pharaoh’s continued exercise of pride is moderate. Those who bring their people and animals into shelter lose only part of their food crops; God has not condemned them to starvation. But Moses makes a grand statement. The great lesson is not that Pharaoh must let the Hebrews go, but that “the earth is the Lord’s.” At Pharaoh’s mouthing the right words, praising God’s power and promising to let the Hebrews go, Moses prays for the storm to cease, and it does. But note, Moses now realizes that Pharaoh is not sincere

Meditation :

Prayer : Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip me with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in me what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen
