If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage :The Word of God

Bible Verse:Romans 10:14-17 (ESV)

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?" So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

Message: Yesterday, we heard Paul's lesson about how simple the Gospel is, for it has been delivered to us in simple terms. We do not have to ask, "What should I do"? Now, Paul puts the shoe on the other foot. Paul exhorts the Roman church to spread the Word of Christ. Because it is simple to find salvation if one hears the Gospel, we should preach it. How can people be saved if they don't hear it, Paul asks, and how can they hear it if missionaries are not sent to deliver it? To Paul, it was doubly important that the Roman church become infused with a passion for missionary work. To see why, you just need to look at a map of Paul's second or third journey, paying attention to the areas in which he traveled. Then put this in the context of the entire Roman Mediterranean Sea. On this last map, the areas where Paul had traveled comprise most of the orange-shaded parts. (He had not traveled to Egypt, but others had, most notably Mark the Evangelist, who founded the church at Alexandria.) As much territory as Paul covered, however, he had not been west of Greece when Romans was written. Paul was enormously concerned about spreading the Gospel to the red-shaded areas on the map. Most scholars believe that he hoped and planned that Rome would become an anchor, from which missionaries could be sent to the large and distant lands to the west: Italy, France, and most of all, Spain.
