Dear
Friend,
If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage:The Shadow of Protection
Bible Verse:Psalm 91:1
"“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the
Almighty.”"
Message:
I have lived in the south and the southwest a large part of my adult life. I can attest
to the fact that the sun is intense and very powerful. In the southwest desert a shadow
from a cloud passing over you brings a welcome relief from the sun. As I take my
morning walks, I find myself watching ahead for the side of the street that has the most
shadows to protect me from the sun.
Andrew Downs wrote: “To walk in the shadows is not a curse and to walk in the sun
is not a blessing. They are simply relative points of harmony, by which we can
appreciate what we have, what we once had and what we hope to have. The sun
means nothing without the shadows, nor would shadows without the sun.”
“Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!” The Shadow
weekly radio drama premiered in 1937. The words in the above quote were
accompanied by an ominous laugh with a musical theme that was composed in 1872.
The Shadow, Lamont Cranston, portrayed a “wealthy young man about town” by
day, and by night, he was “The Shadow” who fought crime.
At the end of each episode “The Shadow” reminded listeners that, “The weed of
crime bears bitter fruit. Crime does not pay...The Shadow knows!”
In Acts 5:15, the Apostle Peter, (also called Simon Peter), after Pentecost, was so
filled with the Holy Spirit, that John MacArthur wrote, “people were healed in his
shadow”.
A long time ago a person emailed me a copy of a photo that shows a bird with her
wings spread over her two small babies. Under the photo, Psalm 91:4 says, “He will
cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are
your armor and protection.”
Isn't it a comforting thought that we can dwell under the “shadow of the Almighty
God”? In Psalm 17:8, David is praying to God that He will hide him “under the shadow”
of His wings. C.H. Spurgeon said, “We rest under the shadow of the Almighty God.” A
footnote in one of my Bibles states, “The shadow of your wings is a figure of speech
symbolizing God's protection” (NLT).
Usually when we think of shadows we think of them as being evil but that is not
always the case. The positive examples of shadows that explored were: the shadows
protecting us from the sun; “The Shadow” radio program ended every week with good
(“The Shadow”) winning over evil; when Apostle Peter's shadow was cast upon people,
the power of God healed them; we can dwell and rest under the shadow of His wings.
When you see a shadow now, will you be reminded that good wins in the end; or a
shadow is protection from the sun; or a holy person's shadow allowed God's healing
power to come forth; or God's shadow provides a place for us to dwell and also rest?
Meditation
:
Prayer :
Lord God, thank You for refreshing our souls by
allowing us to find rest and healing under Your
shadow of protection. Amen......Amen
