If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning. Saturday, February 29, 2020

Paul’s cautious words about the true humanity of Jesus do not lead to the conclusion that Jesus was “just like us.” No doubt, Paul upset a lot of people; and if one discusses Philippians 2 or Hebrews 13 in any Christian gathering, it will likely provoke an emotional reaction. He therefore followed verses 6-8 with a passionate statement of the divinity of Christ.
We worship Christ; He is God. Jesus was, furthermore, the only way in which we can find God.

In the 21st century, inclusiveness has become a primary goal of society. It is widely viewed as a moral absolute. And within the four wall of Christianity, it is indeed a commandment of God. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28).” The extension of this truth surely encompasses such human traits as race, and ability, and nationality.
But when you get to religion, you hit a hard and absolute defining line. God’s intention is that “every knee shall bow” at the name of Jesus. In Christ, there is no difference between Muslim and atheist. Whether they commit mass murder or spend exemplary lives of charity, humility, and selflessness, they are unredeemed sinners who do not know God.
We cannot judge them; our marching orders are “that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people” (1 Timothy 2:1). But we live in the knowledge that they are like people dying in a hospital, refusing treatment. God in His love for them does not command that “every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” in an angry way. He does so out of love, that they might be saved. We, then, must emulate God in our love for them.
Meditation : Prayer : Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that you direct my way unto you, and make me and all of us to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you; to the end that we may establish our hearts unblameable in holiness before you, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints....Amen |
