Dear Friend,

If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage :Prayer

Bible Verse :Philippians 4 :4-7

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Message: This enormously important passage from Philippians could be called, "How to Practice Christianity in Five Easy Steps." Step One: Rejoice in God. You have been saved. The one true God who created the universe has seen fit to give you a special place in it. The most powerful force that exists, the overarching King of all creation, is on your side. He has promised to protect you and defeat death itself for you. What is there to be unhappy about? Step Two: Let everyone see the effect of this joy in your life. The English Standard translates this as "your reasonableness", but one could equally as well translate this, "Let your patience be seen by everyone", or your gentleness, or your temperance, consideration, forbearance, or graciousness. In other words, be a nice person and let others know that you are on their side. Step Three: Stop worrying. Throughout the New Testament, Christ and the saints who wrote the epistles tell us that God will take our anxieties upon Himself. His shoulders are as broad as the universe; let Him do the heavy lifting. Step Four: Pray. Pray your thanks for all that God has given you and will give you. Let God know your requests, open up your heart to Him. Pray to Him about everything, for by your prayers He will take on your worries and you will have a real relationship -- with God Himself. Step Five: Enjoy. We know that Christians have the same kind of ordeals, joys and pains that every human being might have, but you will know a peace that those who are lost in sin cannot: The peace of God, that passes all (human) understanding.
