Dear
Friend,
If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's PassageThe Harvest is Plentiful, but the Laborers Are Few
BibleVerse:Matthew 9:35-38 (ESV)
"And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
"
Message:
The unemployment rate for Christ's workers is 0%. I try to do something useful by writing and maintaining this page, since I suffer from various mental disabilities, and I hope it helps or pleases some people. But I tell you the truth, most of the time I feel more like one of the sheep than one of the laborers. Both praying and reading the Bible, when I make time for them, decrease my tendency to become “distressed and scattered.” If writing this website does nothing else, at least I have to read the Bible and think about it every day!
Jesus the Good Shepherd
The passage is completely straightforward. Christ saw how disconnected and distressed people were, and he felt compassion for their condition. The remedy he prescribed was to pray that the Lord will move people to become “laborers for his harvest.” The harvest is eternal salvation through faith in Christ, and the labor is, I suppose, anything that contributes to Christian faith and worship. Therefore, let us pray as he instructed us.
Bringing people to Christ, it would seem, would be the most important of many crops. But as we see, sheep have a terrible tendency to wander off and, unless helped, will wander to their death. Sadly, all of our earthly shepherds have the same fault! Ultimately, we must depend on trying to understand God’s Word, as it is written; for through the Word, we may find the Shepherd Himself. It is not an easy task. Even the translators will go astray, our teachers will go astray, and our emotions, upbringing, and earthly temptations will lead us to read what we want to read, rather than what is written.
“But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called teachers, for you have one teacher, the Christ. (Matthew 23:8-10)”
Meditation
: “In former times, God, who is without form or body, could never be depicted. But now when God is seen in the flesh conversing with men, I make an image of the God whom I see. I do not worship matter; I worship the Creator of matter who became matter for my sake.”
Prayer :
And finally, may the grace of Christ our Savior, and the Father’s boundless love, with the Holy Spirit’s favor, rest upon me, and all of us, from above. Thus may we abide in union, with each other and the Lord, and possess, in sweet communion, joys which earth cannot afford.......Amen.
