Dear
Friend,
If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage :Storm at Sea [2]
Bible Verse:Acts 27:21-26 (ESV)
"Since they had been without food for a long time, Paul stood up among them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me and not have set sail from Crete and incurred this injury and loss. Yet now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship, and he said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ So take heart, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told. But we must run aground on some island.”"
Message:
The grain ship from Lycia, on which Paul is being transported to Rome for trial, is in dire trouble. They are lost in a storm south of Crete and have jettisoned the cargo and ship's tackle. They have practically given themselves up for dead.
Isn't it just like Paul to stand up and say, “I told you so”? Which he does with alacrity. Admittedly, he has good reason, since he needs to gain their confidence so that they will follow him.
If Paul shows a tiny bit of pride from time to time, his best qualities shine forth here. He has the heart of a lion and utter faith, and with it, the ability to lead men into salvation no matter how bad things look. Into their world of despair, he brings a lamp of hope that will not flicker or die. Notice, especially how Paul describes his relationship with God: “the God to whom I belong.”
The story of Paul’s shipwreck is steeped in metaphor. The unpredictable and dangerous sea is an allegorical world of men, and the ship is as lost as the souls of men who do not know God. The ship (our human vessel) will be lost, but the men (our eternal soul) will live. But the ship “must run aground” before Paul is brought before Caesar.
Paul brings them the hope of life at their darkest hour; he will lead the crew to the salvation of land with the total confidence he has shown time and time again, in bringing the people of Greece and Anatolia to the salvation of Christ.
Meditation
:
Prayer :
I pray to you, dearest Jesus, for all the graces I need to know you, to love you and serve you faithfully unto death, and to save my soul. Give me a tender and fervent devotion to your sacred passion by which I was redeemed, venerating you each day in prayer, and teach me how to unite sorrows and sufferings of my life with your own.............Amen
