Dear
Friend,
If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage :Noah and the Flood [Part 1]
Bible Verse:Genesis 6:1-8 (ESV)
"When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.
Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord."
Message:
With our long study of Acts going on, I thought it would be fun to study another sailing man — Noah. So we will plan on reading through his story on consecutive Sundays.
But to get to Noah, we need to read the background in Genesis 6:1-8. And to me, this is possibly the weirdest and most enigmatic passage in the entire Bible. The daughters of men mate with “sons of God” and have children by them. God decides that his sons are tired of contending with men and limits the lifespan of men to 120 years. Who are these “sons of God,” and how are they able to mate with human women? Are our womenfolk better-looking that the “daughters of God”? Are the “sons of God” space aliens who didn’t bring females with them? Writers have opined various theories, such as they were angels, they were another line descended from Adam, etc.

The second race of creatures mentioned is equally shrouded in mystery. Nobody knows who the Nephilim were, and there is no contextual hint and no mention of them anywhere outside the Bible. The word is just translated phonetically from the Hebrew. But they outstayed the sons of God.
There have been learned arguments that they were a race of men living in Canaan, that they were giants whose origins are not explained in the Bible, that they were angels who lived on earth, that they were fallen angels, that they were Neanderthals, and other things. Some older Bible simply call them a race of giants who ruled the earth before God made mankind. But overall, anyone who wants to say that sentient creatures other than human beings once lived on earth, can find a lot of support from this passage.
But there is one thing I am sure about. Anyone who tries to tell me that they know who these creatures were—either the sons of God or the Nephilim—is simply making it up. Nobody actually knows. (Well, nobody human.)
The final paragraph is the beginning of the tale of Noah. If these four verses are less completely weird than the preceding one, they are strange enough. God made mankind but became distressed when he saw how wicked his creation had become. So he decided, in effect, to wipe the slate clean and start over. Luckily for human survival, there was one man who found favor with God, named Noah. (Really, one man and his immediate family.)
We might hazard a more educated guess, though, about why Noah found favor with God. When he lands safely, he will build an altar to God right away and offers a sacrifice. (Genesis 8:20.) Considering how pointedly the New Testament tells us that Abraham was saved by faith, we might consider that Noah, also, was saved by faith. And there is good support for this explanation in Hebrews 11:7.

:
Prayer :
Now all glory to you, mighty God, who is able to keep me from falling away and will bring me with great joy into your glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to you who alone are God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are yours before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time,.....Amen
