Dear
Friend,
If you do not already have a habit of gathering daily manna the first thing in the morning (we can look at the example given to us in Exodus 16 and find the pattern for make it a habit. Establish your life and your schedule to allow you the necessary time to do your daily collection first thing every morning to give you the strength to make it through the day. And remember that today’s manna will not be sufficient for tomorrow; tomorrow’s manna must be collected tomorrow morning.

Today's Passage : Today's Passage :How a Christian Should Live
Bible Verse:Colossians 3:5-14 (ESV)
"Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
"
Message:
I remember a coach once telling us the secret to playing great baseball. There is no secret. You win games with “basics and execution.”
Today’s lesson reminds me of what he said. There isn’t much mystery to what Paul is saying and it really doesn’t need a lot of commentary. There is no deep theological web of thought to untangle, no hidden meaning, nothing unclear. It is a matter of basics and execution. If you want to follow the path of Christ, what you should do is fairly easy to state. The problem, of course, comes when we try to actually do it in our daily lives, because our old nature is very strong and often pulls us in the opposite direction.
So it is always helpful to read this passage and try to set our day’s thoughts and actions up against it. This makes for a very good meditation at the end of the day, no matter whether we want to seek out our sins for confession, or prepare ourselves to walk closer to God the next day.
Today’s long prayer, “How Many Times Have I Promised,” is disturbing and even painful. Hopefully, we can take some solace from knowing that it came from an early and tremendously pious Christian man, canonized by the Catholic Church. It is and must be a universal prayer, for all people at all times. I commend The Confession of St. Augustine to everyone who is concerned about the struggles of Christian life and the pain of self-condemnation.

Prayer :
The blessing of the Lord rest and remain upon all his people, in every land, of every tongue; the Lord meet in mercy all that seek him; the Lord comfort all who suffer and mourn; the Lord hasten his coming, and give us, his people, the blessing of peace, this day and always...........Amen
